Join us Saturday July 27th - 1PM at the gallery for an artist talk with our current gallery Artist DANI YOUR DARLING. In conversation with the Gallery Curator iris Houngbo about Their current show "A figment of My Idle Mind". The Artist talk will also touch on Dani's Art process, Their multiple practices and various community initiatives Dani is and has been a part of.
Dani Beyene is a Youth Activist, Organizer, and the visionary of “#BlackVoidUBC”
( @blackvoidubc ) a campaign for the investment and expansion of UBC African Studies and demand for a formal apology for the institution’s anti-Blackness. With the better-known moniker DANI YOUR DARLING, they work with mediums including photography, painting, producing, poetry, illustration, digital art, singing, songwriting, and creative directing.
DANI YOUR DARLING has performed and had their art exhibited at grassroot organizations such as Vancouver Black Library, Unity Arts Collective, Art Ecosystems, Hatch Art Gallery, Music Waste, CiTR, Qmunity, Redgate and many others.
